PowerAlert

This new add-on feature allows SkyAlert to monitor observatory main power.

When your observatory power fails, SkyAlert will send an "unsafe rain alert" to any roof controller and/ or imaging application, to immediately park your telescope and close the roof.

 

• For proper installation........the computer running SkyAlert must be powered by a UPS unit.
• The 9vdc Power Monitor adapter for SkyAlert must be plugged into the main power, not the UPS.

 

Operation

The Power Monitor Adapter supplies power to an internal relay. When the power fails to this relay, it signals SkyAlert to generate an "unsafe rain alert" in its weather text file. This will immediately park the telescope and close your roof via any ascom compliant roof controller or imaging application.
